About Us
Our Mission & Response
RBRB provides a rapid local response to emergencies along our coastline. Our crew is trained to handle a wide range of incidents, including:
Water Rescues: Assisting boats, kayakers, swimmers, and paddleboarders in distress.
Cliff & Shore Recoveries: Evacuating injured individuals from the base of local cliffs.
Tidal Cut-offs: Rescuing walkers stranded by the rising tide.
Search & Rescue: Locating missing persons or animals in danger.
Independent & Community-Funded
Important Note: RBRB is completely independent of the RNLI and receives no government or RNLI funding.
We rely entirely on the generosity of our local community. Our lifesaving operations are 100% funded through a mix of public donations, local business sponsorships, and community grants.
Our Dedicated Volunteers
On average, RBRB responds to 5 to 10 emergency shouts per year.
Our impact is made possible by two incredible groups of volunteers:
The Crew: Generously giving their time to save lives at sea, often facing the most hazardous coastal conditions.
The Ground Crew & Fundraisers: Working tirelessly year-round behind the scenes. They maintain our boathouse and equipment, ensure safe launches and recoveries, and secure the vital funds needed to keep our station running.
Without our volunteers and supporters, we couldn't stay afloat. Thank you for helping us protect our coast!
